THANK YOU!

Thank you to all you birthday well wishers!  I had a great B-day and I appreciate all of your comments, cards, gifts, calls, emails, etc!  I am glad the LORD gave me life and that He continues to let me keep living it!  AND, I’m thankful for the people that He’s surrounded me with (like you) to journey through this life of mine (His).  :)

MONSTER PIG.

With all the intensity that life can bring, we certainly need these kinds of stories to bring levity (until you read some of the ridiculous comments that people left the 11 year old victor …people are so interesting).

MY FREEDOM. MY-LANTA

Today we honor all those who have fought for our country’s freedom.  I am so thankful to live here, flawed and all (flawed…that’s mostly due to depravity).

As I am thinking about my upcoming week and how busy it will be, I am quieted that I get to partake in Read the rest of this entry »

Michelle is sweeter-she recently sent this to me.  This is just one cool moment of the many that we had in NY back in March 2007.

Pictured from High Noon clockwise:  Lady Liberty, 2nd cousin Frank, 1st cousin Sophia, 1st cousin JQ, self-Sam, 3rd cousin Robert (Frank’s son), 1st cousin Sean.  Not pictured:  1st cousin Michelle who was on the ground taking the picture (she’s a good kid) and the 159 other family members that didn’t attend this particular field trip!

KRISTIN (& YOU)-READ UP

This could be you….click here to read about a couple that I’m good friends with (we went to college together!) and the unlikely birthing situation they found themselves in.  God has crazy ways to make His will happen!

I JUST HAD IT & NOW IT’S GONE

Has that ever happened to you?  You had something ‘meaningful’ you were about to post and then the topic just completely vanishes from your mind…without a trace?
Amen.

DO YOU OWN RUBBER GLOVES?

“I rent.  I have a lease with an option to buy.”
There’s nothing more appealing than life imitating art…the art of Fletch
This famous line from Fletch has been used lots and lots of times in the last few weeks in our household, as my mom and I (mostly mummsy) just solidified a “lease with an option to buy” contract with the Read the rest of this entry »

GOVERNMENT LOVE (MOSTLY)

What do you think of when I say…’DMV’ or ‘Post Office’ or ‘County Recorder’s Office’?  I’m guessing your thoughts wander to ‘lines’, ‘robotic’, ‘mean/apathetic’, or ‘other’….and am I right?  Well, today I am here to give some cheers to the USPS and the LA County Recorder’s

Today (Thursday) started out ok.  First up, I took a 2 hour class with REALTORS (R)…no comment (only sanctification).  Then I hoped a set of documents that my mom ‘overnighted’ to me were at my house ready for me to take to the LA county recorders office…to record (purposes to be revealed in a diferent post).  The letter was not at my house.  I called the USPS with the tracking numnber and spoke to 6 different persons about the whereabouts of said, extremely time sensitive documents.  Within 15 minutes, the nicest gentleman at the Creekside office had my letter in hand and said it would be waiting for my pick-up.  It was such a refreshing experience!

I rushed to that office, picked it up, started down the 5 and realized I ‘needed’ copies of said docs.  Once in Van Nuys, I found a UPS store, made the copies and proceeded to stand in line at the LA County Recorder’s Office for about 1 hour and 40 minutes ( I met some great people though and the time went by pretty fast, except for my back.  Note: if you’ve not had the chance to go to the Recorder’s office, you must find the time.  It is an amazing sociological opportunity amongst other things).  As I rounded the corner and finally saw the ‘window workers’, I was Read the rest of this entry »

CHEERS!

will you do me a favor?
Please give click here and give a ‘cheer’ to Alli Tamboline of ICU.  We need over 50 people to vote for her in order to possibly earn $5,000 for our S4S account…the money goes to Pabbo Secondary school in Uganda AND, if our club wins for our cluster, 3-5 of our kids earn an all expense paid trip to Uganda!!!  If Displace Me changed their lives….I’m confident that going to Uganda will!

If you have a profile on Schools For Schools already than it’s just a few clicks here.  If you need to create one, then it’s just a few more clicks here.  Your vote really can help us…so, please, ROCK THE VOTE!
